| A: If Croda manufactures an excipient listed in the Untied States Pharmacopeia (USP), National Formulary (NF) or European Pharmacopoeia (EP) it will be made and tested to compendial specifications. | Q: What does "HP" stand for after a product name? |
| A: The HP denotes a product of "High Purity". This means Croda uses higher quality raw materials in the manufacture of the product. Extra steps are taken during the manufacturing process to increase product purity. This results in lower amounts of residual impurities such as peroxide and other chemicals, which maybe present in standard commercially available products. Products with the HP suffix are also packaged under nitrogen to maintain product quality. |
|
| Q: What does "NP" stand for after a Super Refined oil product name? |
| A: The NP denotes "No Preservative" which is a misnomer. Products with the NP suffix do not have an antioxidant present and the Super Refined Oils without the NP contain 0.1% BHT, a food approved antioxidant. The NP version is an option desired by formulators working with parenteral dosages. The NP Super Refined Oils are also a convenient starting point for formulators that wish to add their own antioxidant. If desired customer specified antioxidants could be add when Super Refined Oil is purchased. |
