Q: Do you have an effective alternative to RETINOL?
A: Yes, MATRIXYL is a gentle and effective alternative to retinol for the treatment of wrinkles. A 4 month clinical comparative study on wrinkle reduction (MATRIXYL vs. RETINOL) is available. Q: Do you have a stable Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid?
A: No, we do not have Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid, but we do have MATRIXYL. According to a 6 month clinical study, MATRIXYL was shown to be much more effective than Vitamin C in reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Q: Why can’t I find your trade name in the CTFA dictionary?
A: Not all trade names are listed in the CTFA Dictionary. In some cases only the individual components of a given product are listed.

Q: If a trade name is not listed in the CTFA dictionary, how can I find out the INCI name for a SEDERMA ingredient?

Q: Are all of SEDERMA’s ingredients approved for use in Japan?
A: With the deregulation in Japan, most of our ingredients are now allowed for cosmetic use in Japan. Please note that this does NOT pertain to quasi drugs such as skin lightening products. Providing that the ingredient has an INCI name, it is easy to obtain a Japanese Ingredient Label Name. If one was not already assigned, it will take us a few months to obtain one. Q: Do you have non-acid alternatives to Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s)?
A: Yes, KERATOLINE is an enzyme that possesses keratolytic activity; it helps to eliminate dead skin cells to reveal younger looking skin and help stimulate cell turnover. DIVATONYL is another potential alternative; it helps to prevent the build-up of dead skin cells on the skin, so that the skin appears smoother and less grainy.

Q: I am having trouble preserving my product. Does SEDERMA have any suggestions?
A: Yes, we have three products: OSMOCIDE, OSMOCIDE 2 and OSMOCIDE 3 all of which are osmotic gels. The addition of any one of these products to a formula can help reduce the level of preservatives required in a finished formula. In some cases, depending upon the use level and water activity, the addition of OSMOCIDE can eliminate the need for preservatives altogether.

Q: Do you have anything to help reduce pore size?
A: DIVATONYL will help reduce the graininess of the skin so that pores appear smaller.

Q: What do you recommend for “face lifting”?
A: PLEURIMINCYL is a product promoted to lift and contour the body; it also helps to lift and contour the face. Also, SKIN TIGHTENER ST helps give an immediate, tightening, lifting and firming sensation.

Q: What do you recommend for body firming?
A: BIO-ELASCOL will help firm the entire body, including the bust. Our cellulite ingredients will also help firm the body but are NOT recommended for bust firming.

Q: Most of SEDERMA’s ingredients are water-soluble. What SEDERMA ingredients are oil soluble?
A: MAXI LIP, LIPEXEL, CERAMIDE 2, CERAMIDE HO3, SHEA BUTTER, SHEA BUTTER UNSAPONIFIABLE CONCENTRATE are all oil soluble.


Q: What is the best way to incorporate CERAMIDE 2 or CERAMIDE HO3 into an emulsion?
A: For best results, first add the Ceramide (2 or H03) into the emulsifier and heat to between 75°C and 80°C. Once dissolved, slowly mix in remaining oil phase while maintaining temperature. Proceed as usual.

Q: Does SEDERMA have liposomes?
A: Yes, we have several standard liposomes: INFRASOME, empty unilamellar liposomes, and HYDRO-DIFFUSER and NUTRI-DIFFUSER MICRORESERVOIR, two slow delivery liposomes.

Q: How do I obtain a Certificate of Analysis?
A: A Certificate of Analysis accompanies all orders but must be requested specifically for samples. If you need a Certificate of Analysis to accompany a sample, please request it when you request the sample. If you need a Certificate of Analysis for a recent shipment, please contact SEDERMA, Inc., or your Customer Care Representative, at 732-692-1652.

Q: Does SEDERMA maintain inventory in the US?
A: As a general rule, SEDERMA maintains no inventory in the US. We request at least a 3 - 4 week lead time from date of order to final delivery date.

Q: What is your minimum purchase quantity?
A: The minimum purchase quantity depends on the pack size. The pack size quantity of most SEDERMA products is 10 kilograms (22 lb). Certain items, such as MAXI LIP, CERAMIDE 2, CERAMIDE HO3, ESCULOSIDE, and DARUTOSIDE are available in 1 kg (or 2.2 lb) pack sizes. OSMOCIDE (s) are available in 50 kg (110 lb) pack sizes, REDULITE 30kg (66 lb), ECODERMINE 40 kg (88 lb), and NORGEL 22.7 kg (50 lb).
